We must be aware of common misconceptions about rugs maintenance

Misconception 1: Regular cleaning means maintenance

Many people think that if they want their rugs to stay clean, it's necessary to wash it regularly. However, frequent washing can affect the softness, color, and gloss of the rugs. Usually, daily maintenance with a vacuum cleaner is enough, such as regular dust removal and periodic thorough cleaning.

Misconception 2: Sunlight can dry the rugs faster

Many people will put the washed rugs under the sun, thinking it will dry faster, or put it in the sun to kill bacteria. In fact, this is not correct. It is okay to expose the rugs to the sun for 1-2 hours, but long-term exposure will make the rugs lose its softness and color. The best way to dry the rugs is to put it in a ventilated area to dry naturally, which will minimize the damage to the rugs.

Misconception 3: Using strong bleaching water

Strong bleaching water can fully clean the stains on the rugs, but after the rug comes into contact with strong bleaching water, chemical stains or discoloration may occur. Even worse, it may corrode the rug and cause it to wear out. Therefore, even if you have to use strong bleaching water to clean the stains on the rugs, dilute it with water as much as possible before use.

Misconception 4: Mistaking rugs hair loss

When using the rugs, many people will find a thin layer of "floating hair" on the surface of the rugs, or the length of the rugs hair is uneven, thinking it is rugs hair loss. In fact, this is a common problem with short fiber wool rugs, and the phenomenon of uneven rugs hair length can be solved by stroking the rugs hair in the same direction with your hand. Don't blindly replace the rugs thinking it's hair loss.

There are three key points to note in rugs maintenance

Rugs needs to be maintained and cleaned. Otherwise, it can easily become a breeding ground for bacteria in your home, especially in summer, when it's the favorite place for bacteria and insects. Good cleaning and maintenance will keep the rugs clean and create a comfortable living environment.

Key point 1: Dust and mite removal is necessary

Since dust accumulates in the rugs, it can cause wear and make the rug's color appear dull. For the high traffic areas, such as the hotel hallway carpet, it's recommended to vacuum two to three times a week, and at least once a week in the bedroom. Additionally, the rug is a favorite place for mites and bacteria. Regular dust removal can effectively remove hidden mite eggs and bacteria from the fibers better than frequent rugs cleaning.

Key point 2: Different materials require different treatments

Different texture kinds of rugs must be considered for cleaning and maintaining differently. Using the wrong method will not only fail to clean the rugs but also make it more susceptible to damage.

Key point 3: Remove rugs stains promptly

Removing stains is another important step in rugs maintenance. The sooner you remove the stain, the better the effect will be. If you wait too long, the stain may penetrate the fiber tissue of the rugs and make it difficult to remove.

Key point 4: Thorough rugs cleaning should be performed regularly

In addition to regular vacuuming, dry cleaning the rugs every two years is recommended to keep it looking like new.
